Evolutionarily Preserved Signature Found In The Primate Brain

Evolutionarily Preserved Signature Found In The Primate Brain
Take that you idiot creationists! Another nail in the coffin that you are oblivious to the fact that it was nailed shut a century ago! I still meet christians who some how believe that Evolution is on its last leg and evidence has all but crushed it.
Idiots.
Evolutionarily Preserved Signature Found In The Primate Brain

ScienceDaily (June 24, 2008) — Researchers have determined that there are hundreds of biological differences between the sexes when it comes to gene expression in the cerebral cortex of humans and other primates. These findings indicate that some of these differences arose a very long time ago and have been preserved through evolution.

These conserved differences constitute a signature of sex differences in the brain.

Many more obvious gender differences have been preserved throughout primate evolution; examples include average body size and weight, and genitalia design. This study, believed to be the first of its kind, focuses on gene expression within the cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex is involved in many of the more complex functions in both humans and other primates, including memory, attentiveness, thought processes and language.

The researchers measured gene expression in the brains of male and female primates from three species: humans, macaques, and marmosets. To measure activity of specific genes, the products of genes (RNA) obtained from the brain of each animal were hybridized to microarrays containing thousands of DNA clones coding for thousands of genes. The authors also investigated DNA sequence differences among primates for genes showing different levels of expression between the sexes.

"Knowledge about gender differences is important for many reasons. For example, this information may be used in the future to calculate medical dosages, as well as for other treatments of diseases or damage to the brain," says team leader Professor Elena Jazin, at Uppsala University, Sweden.

In addition to the results mentioned above, the researchers also report on evolutionary speeds in genes that have been identified as male or female-oriented. This could provide clues about the power of natural selection processes during the evolution of primates.

Lead author Björn Reinius notes that the study does not determine whether these differences in gene expression are in any way functionally significant. Such questions remain to be answered by future studies.

Priest Marching Orders: Recruit from Troops

I don't want to rail on this too much. But lets just say that converting from a group returning from a traumatic event is just evil. People are more susceptible to BS when they have been through a horrible ordeal, like war and a death of a loved one. To take advantage of that is just disgusting.

Dobson: Obama ‘Distorting’ Bible, Pushing ‘Fruitcake Interpretation’ of Constitution

Dobson: Obama ‘Distorting’ Bible, Pushing ‘Fruitcake Interpretation’ of Constitution - America’s Election HQ

Ha ha ha you idiotic tripe spewing idiot! Dobson, you are by for the worst person in the world to be speaking on behalf of christianity, let find out why.

What he is doing is holding you to your own shit. Either the old testament is the word of god or it isn't. You can't call together old testament words for your hatred of gays, then when you are held to old testament standards say that Jesus changed all that. If Jesus changed all that, then shut the hell up about abortion and gay marriage because Jesus didn't say a damn word about them! Idiot! Read your bible and stop twisting it to make your ridiculous idiot beliefs okay with god!

Joshua DuBois, director of religious affairs for Obama’s campaign, said in a statement that a full reading of Obama’s speech shows he is committed to reaching out to people of faith and standing up for families. “Obama is proud to have the support of millions of Americans of faith and looks forward to working across religious lines to bring our country together,” DuBois said.

Dobson reserved some of his harshest criticism for Obama’s argument that the religiously motivated must frame debates over issues like abortion not just in their own religion’s terms but in arguments accessible to all people.

“What the senator is saying is that I can’t seek to pass legislation that bans partial birth abortion because there are people who don’t see that as a moral issue,” Dobson said. “Now that is a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution. … We don’t have to go to the lowest common denominator of morality which is what he is suggesting. Am I required in a democracy to conform my efforts in the political arena to his bloody notion of what is right with regard to the lives of tiny babies?”

I don't know. Maybe Dobson should read what Jesus instructed christians to do when he left. Give to Ceasar what is Ceasars. Preach the good news. Help the hungry, the orphans, the widows, the homeless, the naked. I don't see ANY presidence for an all out war on what you percieve as immorality. There is nothing in the Bible that gives your work any credibility at all, because Jesus was your opposite. You are an idiot who cherry picks the Bible James, and you should shut your mouth before people who actually know what the bible says call you on your stupidity!

Bush, Musharraf, Ahmadinejad Least Trusted Leaders

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush is ranked only slightly above the rulers of Pakistan and Iran as one of the least-trusted leaders in the world, a survey released on Monday showed.

The survey, carried out by WorldPublicOpinion.org in 20 countries around the world, found that no national leaders inspired wide confidence outside their own countries. But Bush, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ranked at the bottom, the polling showed.

Only 23 percent of people outside the United States had "a lot or some" confidence in Bush, compared to 22 percent for Ahmadinejad and 18 percent for Musharraf.

Ladies and gentlemen, one of the most hated men in the world, your President of the United States of America!

LA School Teacher Fired For Being Too “Afrocentric”; Arizona Bill Proposes to Prohibit Teachings Critical of Western Civilization

Democracy Now! Article
Are we really to the point of telling people you can't criticize western civilization? First, it was not patriotic to criticize the troops. Then it was unpatriotic to criticize America. Now it is unpatriotic to criticize western civilization? Bullshit! This if America, and speech is free whether you like it or not, even in schools!

Legalize All Drugs - John Stossel

RealClearPolitics - Articles - Legalize All Drugs

John once again puts forth a killer argument for his point of view. Read the article, I agree with it whole heartedly. But my favorite part I have posted in quotes below.

Myth No. 1: Heroin and cocaine have a permanent effect.

Truth: There is no evidence of that.

In the 1980s, the press reported that "crack babies" were "permanently damaged." Rolling Stone, citing one study of just 23 babies, claimed that crack babies "were oblivious to affection, automatons."

It simply wasn't true . There is no proof that crack babies do worse than anyone else in later life.

Myth No. 2: If you do crack once, you are hooked.

Truth: Look at the numbers -- 15 percent of young adults have tried crack, but only 2 percent used it in the last month. If crack is so addictive, why do most people who've tried it no longer use it?

People once said heroin was nearly impossible to quit, but during the Vietnam War, thousands of soldiers became addicted, and when they returned home, 85 percent quit within one year.

People have free will. Most who use drugs eventually wise up and stop.

And most people who use drugs habitually live perfectly responsible lives, as Jacob Sullum pointed out in "Saying Yes".

Myth No. 3: Drugs cause crime.

Truth: The drug war causes the crime.

Few drug users hurt or rob people because they are high. Most of the crime occurs because the drugs are illegal and available only through a black market. Drug sellers arm themselves and form gangs because they cannot ask the police to protect their persons and property.

In turn, some buyers steal to pay the high black-market prices. The government says heroin, cocaine and nicotine are similarly addictive, and about half the people who both smoke cigarettes and use cocaine say smoking is at least as strong an urge. But no one robs convenience stores for Marlboros.

Alcohol prohibition created Al Capone and the Mafia. Drug prohibition is worse. It's corrupting whole countries and financing terrorism.

Obama Fires Back at McCain Over ‘9/10 Mentality’ Slam

Obama Fires Back at McCain Over ‘9/10 Mentality’ Slam - America’s Election HQ

WASHINGTON — A defiant Barack Obama said Tuesday he would take no lectures from Republicans on which candidate would keep the U.S. safer, a sharp rebuke to John McCain’s aides who said the Democrat had a naive, Sept. 10 mind-set toward terrorism.

“These are the same guys who helped to engineer the distraction of the war in Iraq at a time when we could have pinned down the people who actually committed 9/11,” the presumed nominee told reporters aboard his campaign plane. “This is the same kind of fear-mongering that got us into Iraq … and it’s exactly that failed foreign policy I want to reverse.”

Good show Obama! Show those republicans that we are smarter than that, we know exactly what type of policies have failed us since 9/11. He shouldn't have to hide from any debate on 9/11, I think he holds the upper ground.

Bush asks Congress to clear way for offshore oil drilling

This is something I agree with. Lots of other countries are already allowed to drill off our shores, why can't we? Besides, I think it could be done without causing to many problems. The answer ultimately is allowing other technologies like Toyota's electric minivan to be sold here. But in the mean time.

Obama considering corporate tax cut

Obama considering corporate tax cut - Barack Obama News- msnbc.com

NEW YORK - Democrat Barack Obama said he would consider trimming corporate tax rates as part of a simplification of the U.S. tax code if he is elected to the White House, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

Obama said the tax code had too many loopholes and other special breaks for some companies.

"How much you pay in taxes as a corporation a lot of times is going to depend on how good your lobbyist is," the Illinois senator told the newspaper in an interview.

Corporate tax cuts, middle class tax cuts? Better be careful there Barack, you're starting to sound like a conservative! Might end up getting allot of those moderate votes with something like this!

Obama: Bin Laden still free because of GOP tactics - Decision '08- msnbc.com

Damn right! Tell it like it is! Had we not pulled troops from Afghanistan to fight in Iraq, we would have captured Osama Bin Laden already! But lets be honest here, they never wanted to catch Bin Laden, they wanted a reason to keep up with this fear mongering tactic. An Osama Bin Laden in jail would make us too comfortable with life again and we would stop listening to the ridiculous fear tactics of Bush and his Washington Mafia.

Olbermann: McCain should know better

Tomgram: Michael Klare, The Pentagon as Energy Insecurity Inc.

Our country has truly sunk into the pit of Militarism and Corporatism if our government is truly considering the Pentagon as the gate keeper of our energy policy! It what world do they live in? Violence taught at Islamic school

Report: Violence taught at Islamic school - Education- msnbc.com

Of all the things I can think of that we need in this country, another psychotic religion being taught in school is not one of them! Teaching kids in America that it is okay to kill adulterers and non-converts of Islam is disgusting brain washing. This is why we have the separation of church and state. Any church, and any state! How is this allowed and not being challenged by the ACLU as a separation issue? This is madness!

Impeachment On Hold

What a shame. Dennis Kucinich finally did what should have been done years ago, introduced the articles of impeachment against George W. Bush. Democrats should have been jumping all over this, eating it up and shoving it through congress to make Bush pay for his arrogance, ignorance, and most importantly, completely ignoring the constitution. Yet, instead of backing this up, they sent it into limbo. Nancy Pelosi and her idiotic cohorts killed the bill. Yet, 166 republicans were ready to bring it to the floor. So what happened? Fear. Fear that the democrats would look foolish on an election year. Shame on them. Shame on the democrats for their cowardice once again! They have abandoned the cause of their party to save face because of fear. Shame on them and shame on you Pelosi. I wish I lived in her state so I could NOT vote for her next election!

Kucinich introduces articles of impeachment

Well it is about damn time! This president has used the constitution as toilet paper for too long. Someone needs to hold this ass clown accountable for his actions! He is guilty of treason, at the very least by virtue of outing Valarie Plame. I hope this goes well for him and the democrats. Impeaching a president is a big deal, but this one deserves it much more than Clinton did.

Iraqi Parliament's Push for Sovereignty

http://www.truthout.org/article/iraqi-parliaments-push-sovereignty

Well, is it time to leave yet? Some quotes from the Iraqi parliament.

"The anarchy and chaos in Iraq is linked to the presence of the occupation, not withdrawal from Iraq," Nadeem Al-Jaberi, an MP and co-founder of the Al-Fadhila party, testified.
Under questioning by Republican Congress members, Al-Jaberi repeatedly renounced the "success of the surge," and added, "What we strive for is establishing a balanced relationship between the two countries. But nothing of this could be made possible until the troops withdraw from Iraq."

"Iraqis have enough experience in military training, and we don't need the US to train us," Al-Ulayyan told Truthout. "The problem with the current Iraqi armed forces is not the lack of training, but the lack of loyalty to Iraq."

"All Iraqis - Sunnis and Shiites, Arabs and Kurds, Muslims and Christians, and others - want to live together in one united country," Al-Ulayyan said. "Partitioning Iraq will lead to indefinite violence and destruction."

The MPs' adamancy harkens back to a Lincoln-like cry for unity; a reminder that the Iraqi nationality need not be usurped by disparate religious identities. Al-Jaberi calls the idea of partitioning Iraq a "disaster."

"The vast majority of Iraqis will fight to maintain their country's territorial integrity," he told Truthout.

"We think that the American people and Congress are misinformed about what the Iraqis want," Al-Ulayyan said, adding, "We hope we will have more chances to bring the voices of the majority of Iraqis to America."

Ron Paul plans his own convention

Ron Paul plans his own convention - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Now this should be interesting. Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate for president and is a former republican. Ron Paul is a republican. So will he decide to continue running and run as an independent? If so, we may actually have a four person race. Of course, this can do nothing but help Obama. Splitting the republican vote in three directions will surely help the democrats.

But if republicans had any brains, they would pick one of the true small government candidates, Ron Paul and Bob Barr.

Relax, liberals. You've already won

What a great article this was. It is often hard for liberals, like myself, to accept the great strides made in protecting this nation from the radical right wing neocons that have controlled the government for seven years. There are several things I want to touch on in this article. There are so many good tidbits that I don't want to just let you read it without my comments on some things.

For all its concessions to the pharmaceutical companies, this was the biggest expansion in socialized medicine since Medicare was signed into law by Lyndon Johnson in 1965. That Bush had expanded entitlement became part of the conservative complaint that Bush wasn't a true conservative. Some of that complaining was a simple desire to back away from an unpopular president who had tarnished two brands, "conservative" and "Republican." But it was also true that the GOP expansion of Medicare was a major ideological capitulation.

This really makes me laugh. For all the republican tripe about democrats being socialists, it is the republicans that expanded our biggest social programs, not democrats!

In Bush's first term, the neoconservatives, whose influence had been limited in the Reagan years, called the shots. They rejected international law as a trap and argued that only an American monopoly of brute power, not great power cooperation, could achieve peace. The theory of conservative lawyers is simple: If the United States does it, it's legal, and if the president does it, it's constitutional.

Why won't he just say it? The Bush years have seen the destruction of our international image and influence, as well as the whittling away of our liberty, and the desecration of our constitution by President Bush! Never in all my life would I have expected to see this country say it is okay to torture people! It is an insult to every American that a President allows torture!

"In the United States at this time liberalism is not only the dominant but even the sole intellectual tradition," Lionel Trilling wrote in 1950 in his introduction to "The Liberal Imagination." "For it is the plain fact that nowadays there are no conservative or reactionary ideas in general circulation … the conservative impulse and the reactionary impulse do not … express themselves in ideas but only … in irritable mental gestures which seek to resemble ideas." Almost as soon as he wrote these words, they ceased to be true, thanks to the emergence of significant intellectuals on the right like Milton Friedman, William F. Buckley Jr. and James Q. Wilson.

Today, however, Trilling's words are true again. The Buckleys and Friedmans have been replaced by Goldbergs and Coulters, and their obsessions -- denying the reality of evolution and global warming and blithering about "Islamofascism" and "liberal fascism" -- are accurately described as "irritable mental gestures which seek to resemble ideas."

Talking heads like Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Shawn Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Michael Savage had made sure to repeat these gross generalizations to the point that no one even cares any more. Even die hard republicans don't use "islamofascist" any more. And no one really believes we are headed towards "liberal fascism" which is in itself largely a myth instead of an actual institution that has ever been seen.

This article largely supports what I already knew from the facts. That conservatism is dead. And what the republican party now is a neo-conservative corporatist/fascist imperial party that spends more than the democrats, expands government more than democrats, then claims it is the party of less spending, small government and lower taxes. The problem is, the first two are lies, which makes lowering taxes, simply insane.

McClellan to testify before House in CIA leak case

The Associated Press: McClellan to testify before House in CIA leak case

Well it's about damn time someone started looking into the outing of a CIA operative by the head of our government! This should have happened a couple years ago and Bush and Cheney been impeached! Instead, more rubber stamping. They need to nail Bush and his lackeys for this egregious atrocity against this country.

Hints of Structure beyond the visible Universe

This is the type of thing that may really alter the way we look at the universe and give us some really unique insight to the universe we live in. The structure could possibly be, by one theory, the energy that helped inflate our universe to the size it is now. That would explain a problematic part of the inflation theory, a problem that has left us with no "how" part of the theory.

Regime Change in Heaven

This is too funny!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/jun/10/religion

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I apologise for getting you out of bed so early. At 0500 hours this morning the combined armed forces of mankind across the globe launched a massive and sustained land, sea and air attack on the Kingdom of Heaven. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. There will be time for questions later.

As you are all aware, the world's governments have been concerned about the true nature and ultimate purpose of God for some years now. A being that proclaims Himself omnipotent clearly had to be watched closely - we would have been failing in our duty to protect our citizens had we not done so.

Evidence of God's power is overwhelming. Indeed He has said nothing to deny it. He has brought famine on numerous occasions. He has inflicted plagues in the form of Aids, Sars and H5N1. Not a single year has passed without war raging in some corner of the globe, often with His explicit blessing on one side or the other and sometimes on both.

Tsunamis, floods and hurricanes are three more devastating weapons in the deadly armoury He has not only developed but appears all too willing to use. Faced with these already terrifying powers, we tasked the world's intelligence services to establish when - not if, ladies and gentlemen, but when - He will have the capability to launch genuine weapons of mass destruction. I refer, of course, to thunderbolts from heaven.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my grave duty to inform you that all intelligence conclusively points to the fact that God already possesses such a capability and could launch it at a moment's notice. Please, please. Be calm. Not wishing to alarm the people unnecessarily, we have of course, up until this moment in time, kept this intelligence within the confines of the highest reaches of government.

Behind the scenes we have been attempting to negotiate with God. Indeed, up until as recently as March of 2007 representatives of your governments were trying to open lines of communication. We made it clear we were happy to talk either directly to God or to his Angels. These approaches, I am sure you understand, largely took the form of silent prayer. Unfortunately I have to report that our efforts proved fruitless. The evidence of His presence is all around us, so He claims, yet when we want to talk to Him He is nowhere to be found. Apparently God did not want to listen. Though, of course, being omniscient, He didn't actually need to listen to be aware of our intentions. Either that or He was in hiding. Which seems unlikely, given that He also claims to be omnipresent.

As the world is aware, all nations are united behind the necessity of tackling the problem of God's might before it is too late. This, despite the fact that until recently many nations, for various reasons, have preferred not to confront Him. Some have claimed that notwithstanding His terrible wrath and well-documented history of visiting vengeance upon mankind, He is a force for good in the world. Some countries - in fact, at the latest count, at least half the nations of the world - have at some time even claimed to be His Chosen People.

Yet despite countless appeals to Him, not only over the last few years, but over many centuries, to bring peace to the world, He has blatantly failed to deliver us from evil. We now know that He even harbours terrorists. At least, if they do not come from heaven, we know that heaven is where they go afterwards, as they are only too willing to admit.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have waited long enough. We have given God every chance, but our patience is at an end. I put it to you, can a being who chooses to be known under the guise of a number of different aliases ever be trusted? The time has come for regime change in heaven. (interruption) I'm sorry? Excuse me a moment.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have just been informed that our mission has been successful. The forces of the people are now in control of all key targets. Overcoming determined resistance ... (interruption) ... Excuse me, little resistance ... (interruption) ... I'm sorry, apparently no resistance at all, our forces battled ... (interruption) er, strolled into ... what appears to be a deserted realm.

(To aide: "What, no angels? No seraphim, no cherubim? No hosts of heavenly choirs? No ... souls of the eternally blessed? I was hoping to meet my mother again ..." Aide: "There's no evidence of anything, Mr President.")

(Speaker takes sip of water.)

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you victory. Today marks the triumph of mankind. Heaven has fallen.

And may God save us all.

Bacteria make major evolutionary shift in the lab

Bacteria make major evolutionary shift in the lab - life - 09 June 2008 - New Scientist

I'll make this article shorter for everyone who doesn't want to read it all. In short, over the last twenty years, bacteria in a laboratory has spontaneously evolved in front of the scientists eyes! Thats right, they have seen evolution in action themselves now with E-Coli bacteria evolving to be able to metabolism citrate! This is the type of thing that should crush creationists argument against evolution, but it won't. It is the type of evidence they have always asked for, but will ignore it now. We have links in human evolution now, we have links in many animals evolution, we have geological evidence of evolution, and now we have seen evolution happen in real time.

Evolution happened people, no god created you! To say other wise is now simply ignorant and ridiculous!(as if it wasn't before).

Logical Proof of the Existence of a Divine Creator, Why Atheism is Not Logically Sound

CFP: Logical Proof of the Existence of a Divine Creator, Why Atheism is Not Logically Sound

Once again some christian shows their complete lack of understanding of the Universe, assuming that is some how complete planned out and structured like a building, instead of loosely structured and full of cosmic anomalies and irregularities. As well, he once again misses the ultimate problem. If it is structured like he says, that in no way gets you closer to the divine creator. It isn't "big bang or god". That isn't the way it works. Even if logically there absolutely must be a creator, you are still obligated to prove the existence of said creator and prove that said creator is indeed divine. Could we not be in someone else's petri dish? And just because you think you found a flaw in one natural explanation, that doesn't exclude all other possible natural explanations.

And then comes the good stuff. How many creators? What is the nature of the creators? Why not an entire group of creators? See, what these people are trying to get to is admittance of the existence of their god. Which their argument still doesn't do.

Ayatollah: U.S. military is Iraq's main problem - Conflict in Iraq- msnbc.com

Duh. We are the only ones who don't know that we are the problem. If Muslims hate Americans, then why on earth do we think our presence could make things better? I know why, because we aren't staying for their benefit, we are staying because our cowboy president is an idiot and a self serving war monger. He keeps repeating the "no surrender" mantra to himself, not realizing that if we leave, Iraq wins, which is the whole damn reason we are supposed to be there, to destroy the dictatorship and allow them to build their own damn country!

Black Pastors Choose Words Carefully While Supporting Obama

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/06/07/black-pastors-choose-words-carefully-while-supporting-obama/

Not sure how I feel about this. I mean, I agree that pastors and churches should stay away from endorsing and preaching for a candidate. The problem is that republican pastors and hyper conservative churches don't stay away from it. They seethe in it, relish it, and push and push and preach for their candidates, many times allowing them to speak at the church. Yes, I know technically that is probably illegal, but which candidate is going to piss off the radical right wing nuts and contest that?

McCain - The Defender of the Christian Right?

No, just another idiot who doesn't know a damn about this countries founding. He repeats the same tired idiotic lies that continue to plague this country. The same myths and proven false beliefs that keep the religious right popping. The idea that this is a christian nation, that we were founded on christian principles. Now, I don't really want to get into it to much, but when Jefferson says in writing that he despises the christian faith and finds nothing redeeming about it, then I would say that the writer of our Declaration of Independence, did not want a nation founded on Christianity. As well, when he wrote the "establishment clause" in the constitution, then wrote in a letter that this clause was written to create a wall of separation between church and state, then I think he damn well means a separation of church and state!

And when Washington says, "it is oft times beneficial to carry a bible, so as to earn the respect of the faith before election time", I think it is pretty clear that he, our first president, wasn't even a christian that you would vote for today.

And when the devoutly christian John Adams writes in the Treatise of Tripoli that "The United States is in no way founded on the christian religion" I don't think you can argue that he helped found this nation on the christian faith!

How stupid do you have to be to ignore such evidence? I haven't even gotten around to the other founding fathers. The majority of them were deists, which means they believe in a "god" or a "higher power" but they did not and would not profess Christianity! Heck, much of our constitution is taken from the words of Thomas Paine, a deist who hated Christianity so much that he wrote a book against it called "the age of enlightenment". And he was friends with a good many of our fore fathers! This is the person they associated with! The Jeremiah Wright of his day! Controversial, unpatriotic to any country, and fully standing for the people of the day, and them alone. If our politicians are guilty by association, then our fore fathers were much closer to atheism than Christianity. And they sure as hell didn't wish for a nation founded on "Judeo-christian values".

The Arrogance of Obama's Leftist Supporters

RealClearPolitics - Articles - The Arrogance of Obama's Leftist Supporters

I would expect this from a psychotic right wing nut doofus who doesn't seem to understand reality. Here is a reality check for you. Rev. Wright was mostly right. Set aside the incredibly ridiculous AIDS conspiracy theory, he was right. The recent priest? He was right. And about his associations? Well, I believe Jesus associated with bad people too, yet christians still don't get it that to touch peoples lives you have to get down in the gutter with them. They are too self righteous and stupid to realize that no one helps the people of Chicago like Trinity and that everyone up there knows that if you want to help the people, you have to go through Trinity!

The right wing nut crusade against Obama goes against every core christian value you can muster! Judgemental against those not as "well groomed" as others. He associates with the lowly, he speaks with those others hate, he tolerates intolerance to feed the hungry, house the homeless, and cloth the naked. These are all things christians should do if they weren't so busy being "better " than every one else!

You self righteous arrogant brainwashed right wing nut republican fascist ass hats! You have some freaking nerve beating down Obama for doing the precise thing the man you worship did! You should be kissing his ass! Socialist? Really? Well, I have to wonder, would Jesus provide everyone with health care? Would Jesus make sure everyone had food and money even if they were out of a job? What would Jesus do you christless monkeys in christian clothing?

Jesus, ate with tax collectors. Jesus turned the other cheek when mocked and killed (he didn't protest and throw a bitch fit!). Jesus didn't allow the prostitute to suffer the punishment of the law! Jesus gave people free food! Jesus gave allot of himself for free! Do you christians do that? No! Not unless it is a "christian" organization, or church. You help your own for the most part and justify your stinginess and immoral actions with old testament scriptures, and then when it is turned on you, then Jesus fulfilled the old testament.

Well, if thats the case, the you have no argument for banning gays or their actions. You have not base to castigate Obama for his associations. You have no merit in banning prostitution. You have no cause to force religion to be taught in the class room. You should be a quiet example of Jesus love and tolerance, not the epitome of arrogance, ignorance, and self righteous slop!

Jesus would be ashamed of you for the way you use propaganda against Obama for working with the lowly! Jesus would be embarrassed by your actions which seek to ban peoples actions based on old testament law! You use your bible with convenience instead of practice of actual biblical truth. You pick and chose time and place for when old testament is valid and when it is not, carefully making sure you don't stand in judgement yourself.

Yet, you do stand in judgment. Everyone else can see your flaming self righteous arrogant hypocrisy, and you look foolish and idiotic! You try to blame in on atheists and the country going "immoral" when in reality, it is you that are immoral. Fundamentalist psychotic right wing self righteous wind bags who in no way represent christ in this world. If Jesus existed, he would surely say, depart from me, I never knew you!

NYT: Foreign reaction to Obama is favorable

NYT: Foreign reaction to Obama is favorable - The New York Times- msnbc.com

And why wouldn't it be favorable? The world has watched this country be ruled by rich white men for the last hundred years, so this is a huge deal! Considering most of the world that is not of European descent is of color, he truly represents us well to the rest of the world. Even if he isn't a great president (which I believe he will be) the very fact that he was president will be spectacular and beneficial for us and the rest of the world. This goes beyond polics and policy, this is about how we represent ourselves to the world.

DNC bans lobbyist money; Dean remains as chair - Barack Obama News- msnbc.com

Way to go DNC! Lead the way and stomp out lobbyist ownership of our government. Lets show McCain what it is really like when you make a pledge to stop helping lobbyists out. Instead of his fanciful two faced lying about lobbyists, we can REALLY stop being influenced by lobbyists.

Now what is great about this is that they charge $40 a year for the service! And here is the kicker, since no one knows the hour or the day, they can pull this shit off indefinitely and no one will ever question it!

The site, the brainchild of Mark Heard, charges $40 a year for the service, which also includes 150 megabytes of encrypted storage space, recommended for financial information, Threat Level reports.

"In the encrypted portion of your account you can give them access to your banking, brokerage, hidden valuables and powers of attorneys," the site says.

"There won't be any bodies, so probate court will take seven years to clear your assets to your next of kin. Seven years, of course, is all the time that will be left," it explains. "So, basically the Government of the Antichrist gets your stuff, unless you make it available in another way."

5.5% Unemployment

And now we get to see the true form of Bush economics. After years of being told to just wait, this is what it brings. His tax cuts and other bandaid programs merely stemmed the tide until he was going to be out of office. Now, he doesn't give a rats ass. He will sit back and enjoy his endless paycheck and oil profits while the country sinks in flames. Worst president ever, and america's greatest failure.

The Global Warming Time Bomb

First, we were misled. Seems like NASA was too.
Watchdog: NASA misled on global warming studies: WASHINGTON (AP) -- NASA's press office "marginalized or mischaracterized" studies on global warming between 2004 and 2006, the agency's own internal watchdog concluded.

In a report released Monday, NASA's inspector general office called it "inappropriate political interference" by political appointees in the press office. It said the agency's top management wasn't part of the censorship, nor were career officials.
Now comes the bad results of our ignoring the problem.
In Spain, Water Is a New Battleground:FORTUNA, Spain — Lush fields of lettuce and hothouses of tomatoes line the roads. Verdant new developments of plush pastel vacation homes beckon buyers from Britain and Germany. Golf courses — dozens of them, all recently built — give way to the beach. At last, this hardscrabble corner of southeast Spain is thriving.
There is only one problem with the picture of bounty: this province, Murcia, is running out of water. Swaths of southeast Spain are steadily turning into desert, a process spurred on by global warming and poorly planned development.
Of course, poor planning due to not believing global warming was happening has long been a problem.

But things are getting worse. Apparently the melting itself might release more greenhouse gases.
UCR research team sees climate threat under Arctic ice:Global warming could release long-dormant stores of methane gas trapped beneath the Arctic permafrost, causing an abrupt and catastrophic climate change like one that occurred 635 million years ago, UC Riverside researchers have determined.

Back then, the sheets of ice that covered Earth started to collapse, releasing methane gas that warmed the planet and caused the ice to retreat over a period of 100 to 1,000 years, said Martin Kennedy, a geology professor in UCR's Department of Earth Sciences. Kennedy led the research team.
But still, our understanding as a nation is impeded by the likes of ignorant people like our president who care more about money than the planet. Did he care about the "enormous cost" of the Iraq war? DIdn't think so.
Bush Warns Against Senate Climate Change Bill:WASHINGTON — President Bush weighed in Monday against a Senate bill that would require dramatic cuts in climate-changing greenhouse pollution, cautioning senators "to be very careful about running up enormous costs for future generations of Americans."

The Senate climate bill expected to be debated much of this week would cut emissions of carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels and other greenhouse gases by about 70 percent over the next four decades. The bill targets power plants, refineries, factories and transportation.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,361704,00.html

Ladies and Gentlemen, the time for debate is over. The results of global warming as predicted fifty years ago are starting to happen, earlier than predicted. They were right, there is no way to predict how much our increased usage of fossil fuels and increased pollution will spead this up. It is already way ahead of schedule. It sounds as if it may be to late, especially if they are right yet again, and there is a large supply of methane hidden under the arctic ice.

Argue all you want, the evidence has always been there, the results and predictions are starting to happen, the debate is over, you just don't know it. Any longer of the ridiculous squabbling from the right, and we can hand the next generation a big pile of crap that will take THOUSANDS of years to fix.

White Women Take the Gloves Off

RealClearPolitics - Articles - White Women Take the Gloves Off

This was bound to happen. There was no way around it. Once race and gender became an issue, the two largest minority groups in this country, women and blacks, were going to get their feelings hurt. However, unlike Obama, Hillary went out of her way to make this a gender issue. She played victim enough times to make the huge block of women who supported her not want to vote for Obama.

Shame on you Hillary Clinton for your manipulation that may cause the democrats a key constituency this election! You didn't have a problem throwing everything including the kitchen sink at Obama! You didn't have a problem implementing your scotched earth campaign style when you were behind! Yet when it was their turn to strike back, you played the gender victim card and got half of this countries women feeling sorry for you! Fuck that and fuck you!

You have damaged this country far beyond what we will see tomorrow or the next day! You have created an atmosphere in which women feel that you were entitled to the presidency and were victimized out of it! You pulled women into your arrogant refusal to accept that you just might not be the one people want this time around and you might have just cost us the election! If Obama loses because women voters, YOUR voters, wouldn't vote for him, it will be your fault Mrs. Clinton! Yours and yours alone!

You could have kept it clean and debated the issues, but instead you decided to make race and gender an issue pointing out repeatedly that white people like you and pushing this idea that you were some how being discriminated against because you were a woman! You even lowered yourself to quoting the enemy, Karl Rove, in your psychotic attempt to beat the odds!

And yet, at the end of this debacle and spectacle you have created, Obama still gives you a way to leave gracefully, and that, Mrs. Clinton is more than you deserve! What you deserve is to have yourself pushed out and never mentioned again! To be scorned as the person who nearly destroyed the democrats chances at the presidency for your own brutally selfish reasons! Scorned because you wanted to be seen a strong and powerful and not just a woman until it was convenient, then you suddenly were the victimized woman that millions could relate too!

But you weren't victimized by anyone but yourself! And your tactics have made victims out of all of us, including women, many of which may now vote for McCain! Shame on you Hillary, Shame on you! Your name will not be remembered for the great senator who was almost the first woman president, your name will be remembered as the one who scorched the earth and almost made it impossible for a democrat to win the election! You will be remembered as the selfish, self serving, power hungry, dishonest, patronizing woman than you are! Shame on you!

Obama’s Ex-Church Has Won $15M in Federal Grant Money - America’s Election HQ

In stead of being a stinging article against Trinity, it should be a testament to the amount of good they do for the community. Lost in all this political rhetoric is the fact that Trinity has in fact done more good than any other charity in the Chicago area. More people owe their lives to Trinity than any where else. So Fox, how about you do some REAL reporting at tell us exactly what they have done with that money instead of being an ass hole AGAIN!

Iraqis Protest Against US Military Deal

Iraqis Protest Against US Military Deal - CommonDreams.org

In an article by www.commondreams.org that is both revealing and telling, the US can be sure that they Iraqis do not want the US staying in their country indefinitely. The question is what do we do with that information? You know my view, get the hell out! What happened to Iraq being a sovereign nation? What happened to the will of the free people of Iraq? Will the US listen to them or will be just decide that we no longer care about anyone or any people. Will we just give the finger to Iraq and tell its people to sit down and shut up? I hope not. Power to the people, even the people of Iraq!

Photos boost belief Mars lander has buried ice

Photos boost belief Mars lander has bared ice - Mars- msnbc.com

Why is this important? Because if the ice is water, then there was once water on Mars! Water contains the building blocks of life. There fore, if there used to be water, then there might have been microbial life on mars before as well! It would be an astounding find if there was water on mars, and new hope for the existence of life on another planet.

Minn. church bans autistic boy

Minn. church bans autistic boy - Life- msnbc.com

The northern Minnesota church has obtained a restraining order to keep Adam away, an action that has been deeply hurtful to the Race family and has brought them support from parents of other autistic children.

Just another reason why the church has outlived it's usefulness. Banning an autistic kid from church is outright discrimination. I'm sure Jesus would have loved seeing this! How disgusting of this piece of shit church. After all this time, I do not believe that these types are the exception, I believe this church is the norm. Churches as a norm accept who they consider "normal" and reject the rest. Churches exist to push forward the beliefs of their congregation by force if necessary and screw anyone else who gets trampled. If that weren't the case, then these type of articles wouldn't be happening nearly every day!

Missionary Marine Removed from Duty

Well it is about time. In case you didn't know the story, a marine has been handing out christian bible verses on coins to Iraqis at check points. Witnessing while on duty as a marine in another country. While christians may find this novel and beneficial to the cause, it is completely uncalled for. You invade their country, kill their people, shoot up their holy books, then try to convert them. How is that NOT like the Crusades? Wonder why they aren't loving us over in Iraq? It is because of stupid shit like this. You have a job to do marine! If you can't do it without shoving your religion on the native inhabitants, then take your bible and go home!

Solar Energy From Space

A project that was dead not ten years ago might have new life. Now that fuel is so expensive, and americans are set to spend TRILLIONS in gas over the next ten years, a trillion dollars for a space solar plant.
"A single kilometer-wide band of geosynchronous Earth orbit experiences enough solar flux in one year to nearly equal the amount of energy contained within all known recoverable conventional oil reserves on Earth today," the report said.

How can you not spend money on this? That is enough energy to do away with most of the US Coal, Natural Gas, and Nuclear plants. Put two of these up there for 2 trillion dollars, make all cars and transportation electric, and you will have nearly ZERO emissions from this country because all power would be solar! On top of that, two of them would harvest enough energy to power America and you could use the rest to export all around the world with nearly no transportation cost, they just build a receptor and we aim the satellite at them. This is the type of ground breaking thinking we should be moving towards in this country.

Obama quits church

Now, here is the problem. These videos are controversial, but they aren't all to together untrue. At one point he asks "since when did dissent become unpatriotic?" And he is damn right. Some times he sounds silly, and ignorant, but who cares? How is a visiting pastor in ANY way reflective of Obama? Idiotic if you ask me.

Al-Queda Gender Gap

This article is disturbing and encouraging. The idea is that women Muslims are upset that they cannot also be involved in these terrorist groups. They also have strong feelings and, obviously, are wanting to blow themselves up too. The top Al-Queda officials of course are saying no. But may be this is needed.

Allowing women into the higher ranks of Islam and Islam Terrorist groups will lead them into the modern era. They may not realize it, hell, WE may not realize it, but eventually, allowing women in will lead towards a kinder more person friendly Islam. Islam will evolve much the way Christianity has, less of a literalist view, and more of an interpretive view. With any luck, you will eventually have extremists that are like the christian fundamentalists. Sure, there are a few that bomb abortion clinics, but mostly they stay away from outright violence and killing. That type of Islam would be tolerable instead of the psychotic spew they call faith that they practice now.
